Buy 2 or more, only $11.99 each! Mosquito Grass (also called Lemon Grass) contains more citronella than the much advertised Mosquito Plant. The strong citrus odor drives mosquitoes away. In addition to being a very functional patio plant, Lemon Grass is used in the cooking of Oriental cuisine, adding a light lemony taste. Mosquito Grass is a fast-growing clumping grass that is ideal for containers. It is hardy in the south and in northern states it can be brought indoors during the winter and enjoyed as a houseplant. Plant size/format: 2-1/4" pot with 6-8" tops. Zones 5-10. Planting guide included. This item does not qualify for Express or Expedited Shipping. Due to state regulations and/or agricultural restrictions, we cannot ship APO/FPO or to the following states or territories: Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands.
Would buy Again
planted outside doing good was healthy when the lemon grass arrived. -
Once again got 3 simple little plants that have become beautiful lush plants. Put them each in a pot with potting soil and they are growing like mad and yes no mosquitos to be found. -
Pocono Township, Pa
I will buy this plant every year !!!!!!
I received two plants in the mail. Just a few blades in a clump of dirt, within weeks I had a tall large plant that I had hoped to split in two. My worry is now that we are at the end of summer will it come back in spring. It is so big and lush, I hope so, this would make this plant perfect. I am not sure about the mosquito issue however the plant is so gorgeous I will buy again regardless. -

hope they keep growing
I only ordered one, came in a small plant container, some of the leaves were dry, gave it water, and transplanted, seems to be taking hold. Time will tell. -
El Paso, TX
Shipped right on time for my planting schedule. When arrived the plant was well packaged and the bulb was secure. Arrived quickly and was a very healthy looking plant. I have planted in a large planter beside the entrance door to our patio. Looks great growing quickly. -

This is the 3rd yr I am buying these. They have always grown so big and beautiful. -
So far so good!
These plants came carefully wrapped. I planted them in a pot near the back door. So far they seem to be working. Attractive plant too. -

Blessed By The Best,
It was small but has grown nicely. -
Easy to care for
Outdoors to limit mosquitos -
This is my first time at gardening. It came in healthly shape. So far so good. -
Mosquito's be gone
Using in my kitchen and I don't seem to have the problem I had before. Not growing very fast but I think they work. -

Elizabeth City, NC
Bought 4 of these plants & they grow beautifully, but they did not get as large as described. -
Too soon to tell
I have planted 2 and both are still in dormant state. Hopefully they will thrive and be as advertised. Too soon to recommend at this time -
get for cooking, not for mosquitos
LemonGrass is great for cooking, Thai dishes, this is a evryday kicker for everythign from marinade to salads.
HOWEVER, this does nothing for keeping mosquitos away. I have a sea of these plants, I can rub the leaves on my skin (smells great!) but the mosquitos dont care.
Any claim this keeps bugs away is false advertising. -
austin tx (mosquitoville)
I can not make a true comment about this product because it has not started to grow. -
Sometimes, you get what you pay for
Wish catalog mentioned that this plant is also called Lemon Grass. Found larger LG's afterwards at local nursery for about half the price. -
San Jose, CA
Still alive, still small
Just a little palm tree plant. Going to take some time to see how it does. -
Small but Alive
The plant [...] looked brown and dead. I followed the instructions and the dry looking grass opened and became green. It really looks health now. It is growing rapidly, Waiting to see if it works. -
Mosquito grass arrive some what dead.
iam going to try and see if it will pull back to life. -
I planted this product about 3 days after it arrived. It is doing very well, and I have placed the pots of mosquito grass outside. -
First time gardening....
Ordered two of these, re-potted both with Miracle grow potting soil.
One of the pots has really taken off but the second is still sort of brown and limpy. I water them everyday and keep them outside and I wonder if I am giving it too much water. -
New York, NY
I was expecting a larger plant!
I was disappointed with the size of the plant, the picture on the internet is of a large plant. I hope in time the plant should spread as the picture of the plant on website. -
I was wondering how the Lemon grass was going to be shipped but I was stunned when they arrived together (2)in a small, longish box... these poor little plants were pathetic looking upon arrival and I wondered if they would survive. Thankfully, they are recovering and will hopefully, one day, look as nice as the picture depicted them to be. -
Product is outside -
Review mosquito grass
The mosquito grass arrived in not real good condition, as grass looked like it had gotten too dry before arriving here, but hoped I could save it. I planted in new potting soil hoping the roots would take hold, but as of yesterday I'm not sure either pot will make it. Really needed it as after the heavy rains in Oct that South Carolina experienced the mosquito population has been heavy. -
It is growing beautifully
Planted it not enough plant for the price -
looking sad, trying to revive it. came quite dry and had brown leaves, -
After ordering the plant, I found several locally that were much healthier and cheaper. The one I ordered was barely a stem and root with a a few scraggly leaves. By the time it is large enough to make an impact it will be time to go dormant and die. -
Doesn't look at all like picture.
This product arrives as a clump of soil, some roots, and a few skinny leaves. We've had it over a week and it looks skimpier. It's nothing like its catalog picture. -
Palm Beach, FL
The size of the plants were mini, mini, mini. Some were nothing but roots. I hope they survive. The customer should be advised of this prior to purchase. -
When the grass arrived, it had many brown blades. I had hoped planting it, and then TRANSplanting it, would bring it around. Four weeks later, it's not looking so good. Called CS once so far and was told to give it another week or so to see if it takes. -
Long Islans,New York
smaller than I expected for the price
The product was dry, brown, and considerably smaller than I anticipated for the price. With some TLC and a plant light, they are now greening up and starting to grow. I hope with some nurturing someday they will look like the picture. -
Hopefully it will survive
I planted the grass with some nutrients so hopefully it will spring back -
Loves to play in dirt,
two weeks later and still very small
I still don't know how well it works. It's been two weeks since I received the grass. It was a very very small mound of grass and most of the leaves were brown. I transplanted it right away and it's grown very little. I'm still waiting for it to turn greener too. I think it's too small to really keep any mosquitos away yet. -
Very Small not what I was expecting
I was so excited out my lemon grass. Could not wait to get it. I knew it was not going to be very big but when I got it I was very surprised at how small it was for what I paid. The sad thing is it is not doing well and not sure it is going to make it. I have been trying to baby it. -
When the plants were received they were more than half dead and just a couple sprigs of green. I was unable to keep them, after nursing for a week, had to toss them away. Would not spend any more money on plants ordered from this site. -
SMALL AND DAINTY
The plant was very small and flimsy. I tried to grow it bigger inside but it is already dying. I would not recommend purchasing this plant. -
I wanted this plant to help with mosquito's but when I received the plant it was over half dead. I hope it comes out of it have 3 blades that are not dead. -
Instructions with product
Instructions that came with the plant DID NOT state the plant was dormant and needed 3 to 4 weeks before you would see a difference. I thought 2 of my 3 plants were dead! After 2 weeks, I am still not seeing any improvement. Clearer explanations should be provided. -
So small I don't think the mosquitos know the thing is there -
Long Island, NY
Very Poor Quality
The plant was SO SMALL for the price. -
Port St Lucie, FL
Almost dead on arrival
Partially dead on arrival, trying to revive, has little green left in plant. -
skimpy and dead -
Don't buy it.
Both plants died within a week of having them delivered. I would never buy live plants again from you. -
I ordered 4 got one dead not worth sendig back due to cost of return . found same thing alot cheaper -
I planted it immediately, water everyday. It seems to be growing and green but still too soon to tell how it will do. -
terrible , never grew. Died within a few days. Waste of money -
Would not buy again
The grass came almost dead and is not changing much although we water regularly. I would not buy again. I am afraid it will die soon. -
Plants are dead -
I felt the item was misrepresented. The picture showed a nice mature plant, but what I got was a few blades in dirt. I was extremly disappointed. -
not what expected
The plant came with just a VERY few blades of grass. Not worth the $. -
Recieved a dead plant
I was told to plant it and it would come out of dormmate and that it would grow. It is still is dead. What am I supposed to do now? How long will it take to come back to life? -
