I am now ordering more!
I purchased these a few months back because Florida as well as other states is going through a drought. They have watering restrictions in place such as not watering your lawn, etc. I got one set of 8 and have used them ever since. I'm ordering either 8 or 16 more now. You can use flavored water bottles, as well as roughly 1 liter bottles and of course two liter bottles. I have not found any disposible water bottles that work, unless they are at least 24 ounces or more. I have saved numerous plants from dying. Very happy with this purchase. -
I haven't tryed them yet but .love know
We been trying to find somthing to warter are plants And veggies when we
Go on a trip for a week. .and we hope that this will work for us. -
the spikes worked geat and delivery was fas
Used these attached to 2 liter bottles to water new plants that were out of reach of the hose range. They truly filled the bill. -
This product was a very important part of my vacation, it kept the garden alive!!! -
Direct watering at your finger tips and so easy to use. -
Used these in our garden while we were away. We had 3 sunny and hot days with this as the only water source and I was pleasantly surprised the flowers looked great when we returned home. Although the picture shows the bottle standing straight up, you need to place the spikes/bottles in the dirt on an angle. Picture is misleading, read directions. I used 1 liter bottles instead of the 2 liter ones pictured and they worked great. -

Save you plants
In the spring when I am busy and the plants need regular watering to thrive I use these and don't have to worry about the soil drying out and the plant/flower not getting enough water -
I would buy this product again.
The product makes good use of pop bottles to keep plants watered. -
I Have Bought This Item SEVERAL Times
I have been using these irrigation spikes for 8 years now. I've bought them from various catalogs over those years and have noticed the overall design is the same, but where the holes are located and how big the holes are seem to change each time I order them. I like to fill a rinsed 2-liter soda bottle about 7/8s full of tap water, let it sit for a day uncapped so all chemicals in the water can dissipate, then screw the spike on top of the 2-liter bottle and put it in the ground, at a 35 to 40 degree angle, in the loosen soil around a newly planted seedling, sapling or transplant. Some of my neighbors kid me in the Spring or Fall when I have many new plants in the ground by saying - "there she is planting bottles again!" But, I know that one of the most important things to do to get a new plant established is to ensure the roots are well watered so they can grow and fully establish the plant. These spikes work great for doing that. Most spikes will last 2 years if you keep up with lifting, rinsing, unclogging, re-filling the bottle and re-using it throughout the growing season. After that, the plastic starts to deteriorate and the weight of a filled bottle of water causes the tip to break off near the screw cap. -
Easy to use. I would buy again
I use the spikes with small soda bottles for indoor plants, and large bottles for outdoor plants. I don't have to guess when to water. If the bottle is empty, refill and you're good to go! -
These spikes are great for my outdoor tropical plants. They don't allow them to become too dry. Make sure that you remove the plastic ring on the bottle in addition to the cap or the seal will leak. -
I am a container gardener using deck rail box planters on my porch railing. These irrigation spikes work very well and are especially easy to use. Not all (drink) water bottles fit these spikes. I use one liter bottles but in larger pots larger bottles can be used. Only problem I've had is someone in my apartment complex has stolen 4 bottles with spikes out of my containers. Not all water bottles fit the spikes. -

Handiest Gadget for Watering Your Plants
These are really handy for your outdoor hanging plants. Since the outdoor plants need watering in the summer time almost on a daily basis, I will even put two bottles of water in my plants. It depends of course on the size of the plant. They are very useful indoors for when you go on vacation. I highly recommend these. -

This is a great product. Great for little herb garden in the kitchen and also great outdoors in a raised garden -
Love these spikes!
These work wonderfully with all plants. Fill the bottles, insert in plants and walk away. So simple to use. -
Great product I would buy them again.
Great for cemetery urns to keep plants watered. -

Perfect for travelers
I purchased these spikes previously for myself because my husband & I travel a great deal. The person who watches our house & waters my plants finds it more convenient to water this way because they water just when the plant needs it & infrequently. I purchased this package for a gift because a friend liked the idea as much as I did. Great product. -
They work very well. -
North Country woman,
These work very well, distributing water at a slow rate. -
Auto Irrigation Spikes
Thank goodness someone figured this out. They are so much easier (and hold a lot more water than those glass balls) to use than others I have tried. As an added bonus, I now have something to do with all of the empty water bottles around here! -

WOULD NOT DO A GARDEN WITHOUT THESE
I bought these several years ago for my husband because he could not keep our garden watered enough, We live in the south and my husband always does things way over the top when it comes to planting the garden . but he couldn't keep the plants watered all the time without a sprinkler or a very expensive water system. I saw these and thought that I would give them a try. what did we have to lose. I think I ordered 100 the first time but then when my husband started using them I ordered another 100. then another 150. we have had strangers stop and ask what they are because all you see are these bottles , but then they see that it waters the roots of each plant instead of the top of the ground.my husband WILL NOT give any of his (I JUST CALL THEM SPIKES ) away but he will tell everyone where they can order them and what they do and if it was not for these (spikes) he would lose a lot of his garden plants due to not having a way to get the water to the roots. -

These spikes have saved me time and worry and the lives of many of my hanging planters and porch plants. The wind was drying out my plants but with the spikes they are 'alive'. I even freeze water in bottles and put them out on hot days or when I will be gone longer. -
Plants are getting the water they need, eve
when we were having a drought in FL , these were an easy solution. -
It's for Christmas. Will let you know afte
Shipped promptly. -
They work okay. Took a few tries to get them in the ground just right so they wouldn't drain out in just a couple minutes.....or clog up.
Great for giving plants a deep feed of fertilizer.
Delivery was quick -
I've Used These For Years
I've not used these particular ones yet because we've had so much rain that we're 5" over our average for this time last year, so I haven't needed them yet. I've used this design of nozzle for over 6 years and was happy when the design went from the original just one small hole at the tip of the point, to several small ones around the spike, for about 3" up from the point. That design dispersed the water better. Then I saw the design go back to just one, larger hole at the tip, which was NOT good. These new ones seem to have a smaller hole at the tip, then only 2 small ones, one on each side of the spike, about 1.5" from the point. I use these with washed out 2L soda bottles for established trees and shrubs in my various flower beds that don't get reached by the layout of my sprinkler system, as well as a source of continuous water for newly planted seedlings, or nursery plants getting acclimated to their new home in one of my flower beds. When put in at an angle, they work well. -
Use in area where rain does not fall -
W. Peoria, Il
piece of mind
The original design with one hole wasn't good because it continually clogged with dirt. The new design with 3 holes allows the water to continually flow at the needed rate. -
easy to setup and use
Will work well for watering herb garden in back. May try to paint water bottles because they are a little ugly but serves the purpose! -
Castle Rock CO
very easy to use; just fill soda bottle & screw on & insert in soil. I used both 20oz & 2 liter bottles & both worked fine. I travel a lot so very nice while away -
Love these, my plant baby bottles!
Turns empty soda bottles into perfect watering bottles for all of my hanging plants. I may also use for the Watermelon and Squash in the Garden to get water closer to roots. -
set of 8 irrigation spikes
These work great. Need to remember that they don't work with a water bottle, but great with a soda bottle. -
Irrigation spikes sutomatic plant waterer
So far this is working great. I'm testing it on one plant. I'm happy with this purchase and will set up all the irrigation spikes soon...especially since California is in a severe drought right now. Hoping this saves some of my garden. -
Brentwood California (Northern CA)
I have found this product wrks great
This is a product that does help the plant life during very hot hot weather. -
Be sure to follow directions
I put these in the ground and some worked and some didn't....then I found the tiny slip of paper that had the directions and you need to insert them at an angle. -
Work in some instances
I put this on a 2 liter bottle in my plant on the front porch. When my husband came home from work he was laughing, the bottle had completely drained and was completely collapsed from the drain. I guess I will try again and slant the bottle like it says. -
short trips ok with these
Avsentee Gardner's Safe-guard
Love the freedom from worry when I go out of town for a few days. Not having to ask someone to come and water the plants is a relief. -
Automatic watering spikes
The bottles drain right away so won't work for vacations. -
Not all that it's cracked up to be
I thought I could us this with empty Water bottles... But the bottles were too small around the cap area... it's just like watering your plants every day or every other day... The water drains out fast so you have to keep filling it... The price wasn't bad... so I thought I would give it a try... -
when you can't water your plants. this can help in for 2 days -
not really pleased
I use these spikes for my plants at the lake. we don't get out there often enough for watering. I bought some spikes a few years ago and they worked GREAT. The design was changed on the spikes I just bought. Added holes were made on the sides which allows water to run all the time.(Not only when needed) I super glued these extra holes shut. Waiting to see the results. -
I didn't think the water would go out of the bottle so fast. maybe my plant was usually dry. -
No matter how I use it, the water runs out within a few hours so it defeats the purpose of on-going slow irrigation. -
What water bottles fit these?
I am going to continue to look for water bottles that will fit these very clever spikes. They make sense to me so I'll keep on looking but so far, no match. -
Doesn't work as well as I expected -
Doesn't fit all regular sized bottles
Test the bottles to which ones these will fit! -
Flows too fast!
Was hoping to use these in my potted plants while on vacation but they flow too fast so the bottles are empty in a day! -
Plastic bottles collapse...
Absolutely great idea but I am having great difficulty with the bottles collapsing preventing water to drain properly. I have used 3 different types so far and will try glass. I'm afraid that will result in no flow at all but we'll see. I seem to be the only person with this problem? I will buy more if I can solve the problem I am having. -
Not the best
The holes are so big that the water runs out too fast, would not recommend. -
I tried several times to use this product. Each time I came home to dehydrated plants and full bottles of water. Not a drop of water came out of the bottle to water the plants. (I tested several times to make sure the water was coming out) Very disappointed. -
New York, NY
Not worth the money
I had a hard time finding bottles that fit. Now they either pour out or do not drip at all. -
Sodus Point, NY
Waste of money, does nit work as describe
Waste of money. Does not work as described. Water runs right out, nit as needed.
I think the holes are too big. Design not working. -
I bought these thinking they would help water my garden. At least that's what they're supposed to do. They don't work. No water comes out when I put them in the dirt. The dirt clogs them. They're useless and serves no purpose. Don't waste your money on them. -
Live and learn.
Empties a two liter bottle in a little over an hour. -
Would not accept 16 oz. filled water bottles and are therefore useless unless I bought or had larger capacity bottles , which is not disclosed in description. Usually find products from your company very satisfactory. -
I have tried multiple times but the water is deposited all at once into an already watered plant. I can do the same by just watering my plants!! Bought these to use while on vacation but did not work for me since the water empties immediately....none left to cover vacation -
they let the water out to fast
the water spikes do not work -
garden city ks
all around I used to think they was wonderf
The first time I ordered the spikes I loved them but this last time I ordered them they had changed them and put 3 holes in them instead of just one on the end. The 3 holes lets too much water out and I can'
t leave them for 3 days like I did before. I won't buy any more because I bought them so they would last a few days and not run out of water. Please change them back to just one hole. They don't do you any good with 3 holes. -
