I like it alot, but it is not glass
This is listed as "glass", but it is not. It is in the style of mercury glass, but it is actually plastic.
However, I really do like it. I got one for myself, and one for a friend's birthday. I like that it is pretty, and the solar light functions well. My friend says she likes it.
I do recomend it, but just realize you're not getting real glass -
berry creek, ca
yes i would buy another
I like the look of it -
I absolutely love! It was a gift but I had the chance to see it! Thanks! -
I would recommend to friends
I have it set up right outside my front door so everyone can see it. Was glad that it wasnt glass because we have a lot of windy days and it would have been broken right away. For people that want to put it in a landscape area there are pegs to make sure it stays safely in the ground. -
Might Surprise You
I was disappointed when I opened the box. It is a plastic globe with a definite seam running down the middle. It did not seem to glow very much at night. The instructions do not tell you to untie the small LED lights before you insert them into the ball. Once I stretched out the lights and reinserted them into the ball, it glows very nicely at night. I am happy with the "look" of the ball as it glows at night. -
Nice garden accent
It is pretty though it is not glass- light weight because of that but comes with stakes to hold down- great for around small children since it is plastic -
Magical addition to our party
I bought this to use as a palantir (seeing stone) for a Tolkien themed party. Good size, looks cool when lit up, but only lights in a dark room. Must stay attached to base to light. Not real glass, but mercury glass "look." Needs direct sun to charge up. Since I did not use outdoors, can't speak to durability. -
Long Island, New York
Plastic not glass as stated.
Way over priced for plastic, very cheap looking -
Was disappointed it says it's a glass gazing ball but is it's all plastic. I was afraid the wind would blow it away.
It does light up nice. -
doesnt even look like flass
I really like the looks of this in the catalog but when I got it home, put it together it was awful. It was a cheap ugly plastic, it never came close to even looking like glass as both stated and showen in the catalog and on line. Very disappointed. It hardly shows any light at all when full charged and new batteries were used. I don't usually return but this one is going back. -
It's looks ok from a distance in your garden but it's just a plastic ball that's over priced! -
These "solar mercury glass gazing balls" are NOT glass. They are two plastic halves placed together with a very pronounced seam running around the ball. They blow over very easily, especially if placed a table or bench. The lights are very tiny and very few in number. From a distance, they are pretty. I ordered two off the bat, and was disappointed in them. I regret buying two of them. -
Would not purchase any more
Don't glow even with new batteries and yes it is assembled correctly -
I thought I was buying a glass globe. NOT! The globe is plastic. It is lit with a sting of fairy lights. Not very bright at night. Maybe I did not read the description very well. The heading should at least say "looks like".
Also priced a little high for the quality of the product. -
too fragile -
no I wouldn't buy again
love the look of it, but it says glass gazing globe, was very disappointed when I opened the box and it was plastic -
