Buy 2 or more, only $10.99 each! Getting its biblical name because it has a "coat of flowers" that changes colors, Joseph's starts out a golden-yellow and as it ages it changes to a fiery-red or orange and fades to pink. When all the colors are present at one time it is truly a coat of changing colors. This climbing rose will bloom all summer long, well into the fall. Thrives in well-drained soil and full sun. A hardy variety that will last for years in the landscape. Climbing Joseph's Coat should be planted on a wall, trellis, arbor or fence. It is very disease and pest resistant. Plant size/format: 2 year-old bareroot. Zones 4-10. Planting guide included. This item does not qualify for Express or Expedited Shipping. • Gorgeous flowers only 6 weeks along

OK I saw so many negative reviews that I thought I'd add mine. I planted all my plants the morning after they arrived. I used dollar store planters and potting soil and watered them well. They each got fertilizer after 2 weeks. Now 6 weeks after arrival I already have three lovely multicolored roses on this plant which looks quite healthy. I'm already going to have to transplant it! I bought a shepherd's hook so I can pillar it as it grows. - , Lincoln NE

With this much success in the first two weeks I can't wait for it to be in full bloom. - , North Carolina

  • Love these Roses; Thorny; Are RARE ROSES

The Joseph's Coat Climbing Rose is actually considered to be a RARE rose when you can find it! Yes it is a very thorny & finicky rose to grow;but,SO WORTH IT!!! It will have the most bbeatiful yellows;pink; & red colors--all on the same flower\flowers(the blooms change colors)! They DO NOT like to be transplanted. So,PLANT them just ONCE! Right now, I'm using 2 stepladders in my garden for 2 of my Joseph Coats & 2 of my Pinata(I lost 2 other Joseph Coats-1 last yr\1 this spring :-( it was a big loss as it bloomed so pretty!I had to transplant it it from a big pot it outgrew-didnt like getting part of large taproots cut off& being moved to new location. - , Terrell, Tx

  • Roses are taking off.

I bought three of these roses and received them about the end of April. They were alive. I planted them and watered them and since that time we have had three frost in Ohio, yet they are doing just fine. Growing very nicely. No flowers yet, just all green leaves, but they are growing very well. Always remember when these or any plants are planted it is very important to really press the dirt down around the roots and make sure that no air pockets are available. Air pockets kill all plants really fast. Then water them really good to burp all the air pockets out. I will let you all know how they flower when they do. - , Warren, Ohio

  • So Far, I'm satisfied....

This rose vine has been in the ground less than 2 weeks, so it's difficult to accurately rate it's performance. I potted the plant immediately upon receipt but didn't put it in the ground at first because nights were still a bit cool, so I kept it indoors at night at first. The plant has been in the ground almost 2 weeks and is showing new growth, both shoots and leaves, so I'm optimistic that it will do well. - , Lufkin, Texas

  • Picture of product deceiving

Roots appeared very dry and few; most bareroot roses are bigger and have plenty of roots to take hold. It's been about a month since planting and no show of any life yet. May return for another one. Haven't been able to find one locally. - , Benson AZ

  • Too soon for the rose

This my second purchase of the Joseph's Coat rose. The first one I planted a week ago but so far no growth has shown. It is not dead however so I will continue with the process of making sure it has all it needs to grow. I just received the second one yesterday. Looks like other bareroot roses I have purchased. I have high hopes that both will in time be beautiful. - , Albuquerque, NM

This plant didn't grow in a 9-10 zone with almost summer weather. I got the plant soaked roots in warm water for a few hours to wake it up before planting. Rose never woke up it has now been two months and nothing. I even planted rose bare roots from a local store a few weeks later and planted them in the same area and those are growing like weeds. • Disappointing

These arrived as bare root specimens, barely alive. I planted them, thinking I could nurture them back to health, and although they are alive, it's been several weeks, and I still have seen no leaves, or leaf buds...I do not expect to see any significant growth for sometime, and not likely any roses before next year, if they even survive the winter. I would recommend buying more mature, healthier plants from your local home improvement center or nursery. Stay away from these. - , Denver, CO

  • ROSE OPENED BUT IS A PINK COLOR

I posted a comment prior about the roses that I received. One of them died within a month after arrival, and only one actually had a rose open but it wasn't anything like the photo showed as far as color. It was a bright pink color, not orange, not yellow, but pink. I don't like false information about products especially when one has to wait for weeks to see any progress with growth. My other ones are still growing and they are about eighteen inches talls but no open blooms yet, maybe next year. I am curious to see if they will be the correct color. Remember, in my last review I commented on the soil pH and its importance on making plants red -vs- blue...acidic or alkali, but my soil is the correct pH to produce the rose color that it should be. The company must have just mixed up plants and sent whatever they had. I don't like that at all. If my others open to be true color, I will just make cuttings and buy over the counter hormone plant started at the hardware stores and start my own. That can be done with any plants. Then I can have so many of the correct color roses. - , WARREN, OHIO
