very nice -
I eat grapefruit just about every day. This tool has made it sooooo much easier to do. Love it. -
I'm very pleased with this product. I was surprised the knife end had "2 knives" with serrated edges to cut along the skin of the grapefruit sections. And the other end has a curved serrated edge to get around the edge of the grapefruit. The knife makes preparing the grapefruit so easy! The spoons with the serrated edge take care of any cutting that was missed. -
This item is not easy to find and I had my eyes open for the knife or the spoons for quite a long time since my original ones had 'vanished' over time.
Imagine my delight when I found this as a set and that when I received it, a major improvement had been made - one of the knife-ends actually is two knives with a small gap between them in order to easily cut both sides of the dividing membranes separating the segments of the grapefruit. The curved side of the knife is to easily cut the edge between fruit and rind - and voila - you can pick out nice grapefruit pieces free of the membranes.
When a family member saw this, she asked me to order her three, for her own use and for her daughters
as we all are blessed with Grapefruit right off the trees. -
Got grapefruit ? You'll love this set.
After searching for these SPECIALLY designed spoons (serrated tips) and knife (blade bend to conform to fruit shape) I was delighted to find this set at Collections etc. I was even more delighted after receiving the set and discovering that the straight knife on the opposite end, actually are two parallel blades to conveniently cut on both sides of each membrane of the fruit segments. Now THAT is a great invention. Using it, you can easily and quickly dissect and scoop out segments. Don't expect the complete segment, no, but nice chunks. After you scoop out these chunks, you can use the spoon to scrape out the remaining fruit and scoop out the juice.
I liked it so much that I bought 4 more for family members who also have grapefruit trees. -
